Finding E-Journals

Due to complexities of online journals, you may find it necessary to try more than one source to find a specific journal. If you are off-campus remember to authenticate (sign on to the Tulane proxy server with you Tulane email ID/password) at the Library website prior to searching the Library Catalog , the E-Journals list, or other licensed databases.

Tulane E-Journals Citation Linker Tab
  • Search journal titles or use specific citation information to link directly to an article.
  • Use identification numbers from Medline databases (PubMed=PMID or OVID=Unique Identifier, UI).
  • Link directly to the Interlibrary Loan form (ILLiad) for unavailable resources.

  • Browse through the A-Z list
  • Search for a journal title.
Library Catalog
  • Search by "Journal Title" -Type exact beginning of the title, omitting first articles.
  • Internet Link(s) are in the record displays
  • Search keyword: http? "Journal name"
  •  In the results display indicates that there is an internet link in the record.

About Access to E-Journals

Tulane personnel have access to Tulane's licensed resources when using the Tulane computer network (by IP range).

  • If off-campus, authenticate on the Library home page with a Tulane email ID/password.

Problems with access may be due to

  • License restrictions. Some resources may not allow off-campus access.
  • Variables such as years of subscription, number of concurrent users, licensing agreements, intermittent internet connection problems, etc.
