Finding E-Journals

To see if a journal may be available in FULL-TEXT(Note: Due to complexities of online journals, don't depend on only one source to find an article):

1.  Library Catalog - look for "Internet Link(s):" or  .

2. Tulane E-Journals List - Under Renovation: If you have problems, check Library Catalog or Ask a Librarian

3.  Google - enter full journal title in quotes (i.e."Irish Medical Journal")

4.  HighWire Press

5.  Free Medical Journals.com

6.  Directory of Open Access Journals*

7.  PubMed Central

Can also search these publisher's sites by subject or author:

• American Psychiatric Association Journals
• BioMed Central
• Blackwell-Synergy Journals
• British Medical Journal Group
• Science Direct

Access

Tulane personnel have access to over 1000 online journals. Since most are by paid subscription, access is limited to:

• on-campus
• off-campus through the Tulane Internet server (RS6000)
• off-campus, if using commercial Internet provider, (must authenticate on library home page)
• variables such as years of subscription, number of concurrent users, licensing agreements, intermittent internet connection problems, etc.
